Cricut Classes
Beginner – learn the basics of using a Cricut machine. You are encouraged to bring your machine with you to this class. If you have not yet purchased a Cricut machine, you may use my machine during class to determine if you would like to purchase one for yourself. You will also learn to use Cricut markers in this class.
Advanced – in this class you will learn the more advanced features of your Cricut machine. You will learn how to use “fit to page”, “mix ‘n match”, “auto fill” and all of the other special features on your machine. This class is hands on and you are expected to bring your machine with you to class.
Character cartridges – there are a number of wonderful licensed character cartridges for the Cricut machine, including, but not limited to, Mickey and Friends, Cars, Hello Kitty, Disney Classics, Best of Pixar, etc. These cartridges are so cute that they pull you in to purchase them, but then you get home and have to figure out how to assemble them. This can be quite challenging. In this class we will walk through a number of different cuttings using different cartridges. We will work our way from a simple Hello Kitty design, to a more complicated Mickey Mouse cut and finally end with a difficult, yet rewarding Disney Princess design.
Specific cartridges – at different times, I feature different cartridges. If there is a particular cartridge you would like to use in class, please let me know and I will add it to the line up.
Gypsy – the Gypsy is a wonderful tool for the avid Cricut user and collector. In this class I will show you how to set up your Gypsy and how to get started using it. Once we master the basics, I’ll move along and show you some tricks you can use to make your Gypsy use easier.
Design Studio – this is a software program by Provo Craft. You can use it to design with Cricut images. You can “weld” letters together so that they cut out as words instead of individual letters. You can alter some of the shapes by removing lines that you do not want to cut. You can easily reproduce multiple items. And, best of all, you can see the entire mat on the screen. This allows you to use smaller scraps of paper and to always know exactly where your machine is going to cut.
Paper Piecing
Make your Own patterns - Looking for a sticker of the Teletubbies? Team Umizoomi? The Wot Wots? You aren’t going to find those in the store. Come to this class and I’ll teach you how to make your own pattern and paper piecings to match just the look you are going for. No special equipment is required.
With mulberry paper (tear bears) – adorable paper pieced bears (and other animals) made from mulberry paper, torn, layered, chalked, fluffed and embellished. These are absolutely adorable. If you have never made tear bears before, you will want to sign up for this class and learn how.
Scrapbooking – Each class we will make a different two page layout.
Card making – each class we will make 4 cards. Sometimes they will all be different, sometimes they will be the same. It all depends on the techniques we are using.
